How we write
How we write this desk, who pays for what, and what we will not do
You are reading a website at a hard hour. You are owed the rules it plays by, in plain words.
This site is supported by New Plan Care, a St. Louis in-home care company.
Who publishes it
Burned Out Daughter is published by OwnersFirm, a St. Louis company that builds reference sites. It is not a clinic, a home care agency, a charity or a government program. Nobody on the desk is a clinician, so pages carry a desk byline, not a named expert, and nothing here pretends to be medical advice.
How a page gets written
Every read starts with one reader and one question: the daughter caring for a parent full time, and the exact words she typed. From there the desk works the same way each time.
- Public sources, opened and read. Program rules, phone numbers and figures come from the page that owns them: Medicare, the National Institute on Aging, the VA, the Missouri Department of Health and Senior Services, Aging Ahead, the Family Caregiver Alliance, the Alzheimer's Association and the others on the sources page.
- Linked where the claim is made. A sentence that states a rule links to the page that states it, so you can check it without trusting us.
- Numbers only when we saw them. A phone number appears only if we read it on the organization's own page. The local help directory says which page and when.
- Dated. Pages carry the date they were written or checked, because programs change their funding and their lines.
The one sponsor
The two companies are separately owned. It appears in a labelled slot on the home page, in a labelled note after each read, and nowhere else.
The only form on the site sits in that home page slot. It goes to New Plan Care Solutions and to nobody else. It asks for a name and an email; a phone number is optional, and the company contacts people only the way they ask. Please do not type health details into it. There are no analytics tags or advertising pixels on this site.
The placement is never a ranking, a result or a verdict drawn from the reads. No read was written to steer you to it, and every public door on this desk, from Aging Ahead to the VA, is listed whether or not it has anything to do with New Plan Care.
What the desk will not do
- Diagnose you or your parent, or tell you what a symptom means.
- Give medication advice. The most it will say is ask the doctor or the pharmacist.
- Print a price, a wage or a benefit amount it cannot link to a published source.
- Invent a story, a quote, a client or a statistic.
- Use fear to move you, or inspirational quotes to soothe you.
- Rank care providers. This is a guide, not a rating site.

Photos are either licensed stock from Pexels or supplied by New Plan Care Solutions and credited "Photo: New Plan Care Solutions" where they appear. None show real clients or anything clinical.
Corrections
Public pages move, programs lose funding and phone lines change. If something here no longer matches the page it links to, the linked page is right and we are wrong. Write to the publisher through ownersfirm.com, name the page and the sentence, and we will check it against the source, fix it, and change the date on the page. We would rather be corrected than send a tired daughter to a number that no longer answers.
